By registering for camp, you are consenting to the use of these images in this manner.Parent / Guardian Signature Code of Conduct, Waiver and Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Hold Harmless AgreementCode of Conduct*• Campers are expected to be respectful of staff and each other at all times. There will be no pushing, shoving, hitting, threatening, bullying, horseplay, or use of profanity with fellow campers or staff. • Campers are expected to be respectful of the Club property and sailing equipment at all times. Intentionally capsizing (unless directed) or hitting boats is strictly forbidden and in the case of damage, parents may be required to assume financial responsibility for the cost of repairs. • In accordance with Club policy, all 8-year-old campers are required to wear a life jacket at all times while on LCYC property. • All campers and staff, regardless of age, are required to wear a life jacket while on the water. • No running on the docks. • Campers may not swim without permission and supervision from a staff member. • Weapons of any kind are prohibited. • It is the responsibility of every parent to ensure that their child has a local parent/guardian who is always reachable and available to do an unexpected pick-up during camp week, as occasional medical or weather emergencies do arise. • All campers are responsible for cleaning up the LCYC property and putting away the boats and sails before they leave for home each day. Violations of these rules will be addressed on an individual basis and may result in a call to parents/guardians, being sent home for the day, or being expelled from camp without a refund. I have read and agree to the LCYC Sailing Camp Code of Conduct.Responsibility*The undersigned parent or legal guardian of the sailor, a minor child (hereinafter referred to as “my child”), requests that my child be allowed to participate in any and all activities associated with the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club, including but not limited to sailing, tennis, swimming, the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club Junior Sailing Camp, and the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program (collectively, the “Activities”). In consideration for my child being permitted to take part in the Activities and to use the facilities and property of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club and their affiliated organizations, I make the following promises, acknowledgements, understandings, and agreements, and state: I am familiar with the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club programs including all associated Activities, and I understand that officers, directors and employees of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club are available to discuss the Activities if I should wish additional information. I also understand that I am solely responsible for the arrival and departure of my child at the beginning and end of each day’s Activities. I will not allow my child to remain on the premises of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club after each day’s Activities without appropriate supervision and permission of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club. I will inform my child that she/he is expected to cooperate with and follow the directions of the person in charge of the Activities and to act in a manner consistent with the spirit of good sportsmanship and respect for the rights of others. My child knows how to swim. I will immediately notify the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club in writing if a change in my child’s health or other condition would affect my child’s ability to participate in the Activities. I have read and agree with the paragraph above.Waiver of Release of Liability*In consideration of my child being allowed to participate in the Activities, including the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club Junior Sailing Camp and/or Youth Sailing Program, as parents and guardians for our heirs, personal representatives, insurers, medical providers, subrogees, lien holders and assigns, I do hereby waive and release and forever discharge the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club, and affiliated organizations, their insurers, members, managers, officers, directors, lessees, organizers, board members, sponsors, volunteers, employees, coaches, participants, independent contractors or others assisting in conducting the Activities and their successors, heirs, representatives, and assigns (hereinafter “the Released Parties,”) from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions and causes of action, I or my child may have or acquire to make a claim against the Released Parties for monetary damages, caused by injury to my child or damage to the property of my child and myself arising from my child’s participation in the Activities and use of the facilities and property of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club whether or not the injury or damage results from negligence, other action, or inherent risk of said Activities. I have read and agree with the paragraph above.Assumption of Risk*I am aware that the Activities may involve risk and inherent risk including, but not limited to, maneuvering a boat, sailboard or other watercraft in deep waters, in potentially hazardous conditions which may include, among other things, strong winds, high waves, sudden and unexpected immersion in deep waters, and collisions with other watercraft or other objects, including stationary watercraft, pilings, docks, and buoys. With knowledge of the dangers involved, I voluntarily ask that my child be allowed to take part in the Activities. I acknowledge that the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club is a non-profit organization subject to certain immunities under Michigan Law. I accept any and all risks to me and my child of injury, death and property damage arising from participation in the Activities and use of the facilities and property of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club, whether or not caused by negligence or other actions. I have read and agree with the paragraph above.Hold Harmless Agreement*I further agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from any loss, liability, damage, claim or cost, including actual attorney fees and costs, they may occur due to my child’s participation in the Activities and use of the property and facility of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club whether or not such loss, liability, damage, claim or cost results from the negligence or other action of any of the Released Parties, including, but not limited to, inherent risk of said Activities.
